Edit: I have two doctor's appointments the second week of travel, so I was able to get out of that week. I'm SO thrilled! I didn't want to have to reschedule both of my appointments, so I just asked about it, and they said it wasn't a problem! Yes!!
So, I'm only 19 weeks pregnant, but I already don't want to travel, especially when it comes to traveling for long distances. Unfortunately, I travel some for my job which is going to stop next year when the baby arrives, but I'm going to have to travel some in the next few months, and I'm trying to figure out where I should draw the line.
I'm traveling to Mississippi the Week of September 21st. It's a 6-7 hour car drive from Athens, and I'll be driving by myself. It won't be too bad, but I don't think that I'll be super comfortable driving for that long, especially since I need to drink water, but I don't want to stop every ten minutes. I've already committed to this traveling, so there is no way around it, and I don't think it'll be too much.
I've then had a request to travel to L'Anse, Michigan the Week of September 28th. First off, I'll have just traveled the week before and spent the entire week away from my hubby...I don't really want to do it two weeks in a row. Second, I would have to fly and drive to get to our office there. It would be a minimum of a 4 hour flight, then another 1-2 hours to drive to our office.
Next up, they want me to travel to Bingham, Maine the Week of October 5th. That's the following week, so that would be three weeks of traveling out of town and without being with my husband. It would be miserable. And the flight and drive in Bingham is even worse than the one to L'Anse. It's about a five hour flight to Bingham.
Anyways, I know I'll be fine to go to all of them, because I won't be that far along, but I just really hate that they are even putting me in that situation by asking me to go out of town for three weeks in a row after I'm half way through my pregnancy. I'll be 22 weeks when I go to Missisippi, then 23 weeks in L'Anse and 24 weeks in Bingham.
I also hate traveling with a passion, and I don't want to spend three full weeks out of town without my husband. It's not fun, and I don't enjoy it. I don't enjoy not being able to exercise in the comfort of my own neighborhood or gym, and I don't enjoy not being able to decide what to eat, because our choices are limited, and we have to eat out.
I know...I'm full of complaints, but I just really don't want to have to go to all three, and I'm not sure how I want to approach the situation. I'm going to request to only go to two. I know that I'm going to Mississippi, but possibly, only go to either L'Anse or Bingham. What do you guys think? Any suggestions?
