My Wedding Dress

Kelly over at Kelly's Korner is hosting Show Us Your Life every Friday and this week's is "Show Us Your Wedding Dress". Head on over to Kelly's Korner to see more beautiful wedding dresses!!

I only went to two different stores to try on wedding dresses. The first store didn't have a single dress in my price range, so I didn't stay there long. The second store was called Bride Beautiful in Atlanta, GA. They had some beautiful dresses. I tried on six or seven dresses, but the first one that I tried on was the one that I purchased. I loved my wedding dress, and I got so many compliments on the dress. I thought that it was very flattering for my shape and size, and it was perfect! As of now, I wouldn't go back and trade it for a different dress, but I'm sure in a few years when styles have changed that I might change my mind. :)

Now for some photos of my dress:

Disappointing Circumstances...Going Private

So, as I mentioned at the end of last week, I went to the Atlanta Braves game with my friends yesterday, and I was SO excited to tell them about my pregnancy! They were all so excited, and they were very happy for me, but I found something out that hurt me and upset me pretty badly.

Upon telling one of my friends yesterday, her response was, "Yes, I had heard that you were pregnant, but I wasn't sure." And I asked her how she heard that, and she said that someone told her that reads my blog. Unbelievable...she mentioned the person's name, so I know who it is, and the crazy thing about it is...I am not even really friends with this person. I would talk with her, and we were in the same sorority, but we aren't really good friends, and I would never call her and tell her the news. I figured that there might be one or two people that I know that read my blog, but I truly thought that these people had enough value and character to not go behind my back and tell a really close friend that I'm pregnant, when I really wanted her to hear it come from me.

It's funny, because I have another friend who does read my blog, and she sent me a Facebook message telling me that she read it, and she saw that I was pregnant. She congratulated me, and she said how excited she was for me, but she knew that I probably wasn't telling anyone yet, so she would keep it quiet. And she kept her word, and I really appreciate that. She didn't go telling some of my other friends that she talks to regularly. She kept it to herself, because she is my friend, and she values our friendship and trust, and I appreciate that!

To me it's kind of like gossip...people hear someone is pregnant or something is going on in their lives, and they immediately, call someone up and say, I heard ___, is it true? What do you think? Anyways, I'm just extremely hurt that someone that I'm not close to would go and tell someone that I am close to when I was waiting to tell my close friends and family, so I could tell them in person. This is my life...why in the world would someone read my blog and feel like it was ok to go around talking about me and trying to find out if it's true...I have one question, "Why do you even care?"

So, on that note...I won't be writing in my blog until I go private or find a new solution. Do I create an entirely new blog account or will they find me there too? I'm thinking about it, so if you have any suggestions for this situation, please let me know. In the meantime, if you want to be able to view my blog once I go private, please send me your email address. I apologize for the inconvenience. I really don't want to do this, as I really like people being able to come and see my blog and meet new people that way. But right now, I just don't see that I have a choice.

Last Single Night Out...Yay!!

I've been meaning to post some of the photos of the events leading up to the wedding, and I kept forgetting. When I posted my earlier post about this weekend, and I added a photo from my Bachelorette Party...it made me start thinking about how much fun I had. I had the BEST Bachelorette Party that a girl could ever ask for. I have the most amazing friends, and they did exactly what I wanted.

We went to one of my favorite restaurants for dinner and afterward, we went back and I opened up gifts and had drinks and ice cream cake! Then we went downtown for a night of fun and finally crashed around 4:00 AM. I can't say it enough, but I have some really awesome friends. Here are some photos from the night!
Sisters!! The best party planner...EVER!!

Some random guys bike that they dared me to get on...I did it!!

My NEW Sisters, Ashley & Anna!

The whole group...I have A LOT of awesome friends!!

What a cute shower gift?! An umbrella with cute panties attached! Great gift idea!!

Me with the Hot Dog that they bought me before getting in the Taxi to go home! I was excited, and I don't even like hot dogs!! Wow!

Friends!!

Me with the BEST sister in law EVER...Grant's younger sister, Anna!

The end of the night...Things were getting crazy!!

Girls Day

I'm so excited, because I'm spending my Saturday with five of my sorority sister's from college, and I can't wait! We are meeting up at one of the girl's house at 12:30 for lunch, and we are going to head over to the Braves game. We don't have anything planned after the game, but I'm sure we'll get into something. I love my friends so much, and I'm SO thrilled to see them! I've actually been keeping the pregnancy from all of them expect my BFF and Sorority Lil Sister, Rachel who I told right away! :) So, I'm going to share the news with them tomorrow. I haven't announced it on Facebook yet, because I wanted to be able to surprise them! Can't wait to see them. It's going to be a great weekend!
My Bachelorette Party...We'll only be missing ONE on Saturday!!

It's on SALE!!

So, I called the Baby Gap Home store...the only one in GA yesterday afternoon to see if they had the bedding. They had one set of the bedding, and it was on sale!! I'm so excited, so they are holding it for me, and I plan to go by and pick it up on Saturday. I can't believe my luck!! :)

Bedding...What do you think?!

So, Grant and I have chosen our bedding, and we both love it! It's not anything super fancy, but we think it's perfect, and we are so excited about it. What do you guys think?

We will not be painting the room yellow, but this is the bedding! Can't wait to get more details and begin really decorating and painting! :)

What a Relief?! Whew...

So, I have a semi-strange work set-up in that I live and work in Georgia, but my company is based in Seattle with the IT department being mostly in Montana and having operations in 18 states throughout the country. This makes for a situation where I work with people from all over and from many different time zones. My boss lives in Montana, so I don't talk to him very often. He communicates with me when he needs to, but he doesn't monitor me or micromanage me, so I may talk to him once a week.

He is in Georgia this week visiting and having some meetings with everyone down here, and he requested that we have breakfast at 7:30 this morning. I was nervous, because I knew that it was time to tell him about my pregnancy. I also was a little worried that I might get let go, because of the current climate and the industry that our company resides in. Good news is...he didn't let me go!! :) And he was thrilled with my news! He was excited for me, and he said to let him know if there is anything at all that he can do! It was great, and I showed him the ultrasound photos! It's great to know that I work for such a great company and boss who is so positive and easy going. I travel a lot for work, and he was able to make me feel better about how we are going to deal with that now that I won't be able to travel as much! It's going to work out just fine, and I'm SO excited about it and so relieved that I've told him, and it's over! Yipee!!

What do you guys think?!

So, my dad came through and saved the day, and he was able to scan the photos for me this morning and send them my way! Yay! He is such a great dad! I don't know what I would do without him around. :)

I'm not sure if I've mentioned it before but my mom does ultrasounds, so this Saturday we spent an enjoyable day together. I purchased some Christmas presents for Grant's family, as well as, make-up for myself. We stopped by the roadside stand and bought squash, onions and boiled peanuts. We also went to Gap and Old Navy to look around. We had a great time and at the end of the day, as we were driving past my mom's office, she said, "So...do you want to have a look?" I didn't want to ask, because I didn't want to bug her or make her do too many ultrasounds. But I couldn't resist, so I immediately said "Yes". We took tons of photos, and we spent at least a half hour looking at Baby Harvey.

Here are his photos:

So...take a look at that last photo!! Are you thinking what I'm thinking? I know it's early, but I totally think that it's a boy! My mom has been doing this for 25 years, and she is 95% sure that it's a boy, as well. She says that we'll have to wait and see in a few weeks, but he definitely looks like a little boy! :) And it was definitely repeatable, so I have three or four photos where he looks like a boy! I'm trying not to get too excited, just in case she is wrong, but I'm still definitely very excited at the possibility of having a boy! By the way, I'm 12 weeks, and BH is measuring 12 weeks, 5 days, so he is measuring head of schedule! Yay!! :)

Post Coming Soon...

I have a great post that I will be posting as soon as I can; however, I need to include some photos with the post, and I have to scan the photos before I can put them online (And yes, I do have a digital camera). I am going to try to get a chance to scan the photos today; however, if I don't have time, it may have to wait until tomorrow. In that case...well, I guess I'll post tomorrow. Until then...have a great Monday, and I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend.

Take the time to watch...

I'm already emotional enough as it is, but this just made me cry...Please watch. Just seeing all of those people there to support our troops and his family means so much, and it shows that the people of the United States really stand together at times like this.

Killed in action the week before, the body of Staff Sergeant First Class John C. Beale was returned to Falcon Field in Peachtree City Georgia, just south of Atlanta, on June 11th, 2009. The Henry County Police Department escorted the procession to the funeral home in McDonough, Georgia. A simple notice in local papers indicated the road route to be taken and the approximate time.

Nowadays one can be led to believe that America no longer respects Honor and no longer honors sacrifice outside the military. be it known that there are many places in this land where people still recognize the courage and impact of total self-sacrifice. Georgia remains one of those graceful places.

11 Weeks & 1 Day

So, after hearing everyone's advice the other week about whether or not to tell, I decided to wait a little bit longer. I think everything will be okay, but if I've waited a little over seven weeks to tell everyone already...what's a few days longer?! So, I'm going to tell everyone and make the news public in six days!! I'm SO excited. I know that it's not technically the end of the 1st trimester until the end of the 12th week, but I am going to cook-out and to the Braves game on the 18th with some friends that I only see once or twice a year, and I want to tell them all then, so I'm going to have to spill the beans! :)

Now, I haven't done this in a few weeks, so I'll do it today...

How far along? 11 Weeks, 1 Day
Total weight gain/loss: 1-2 lbs...Still about the same amount of weight gain!
Maternity clothes? Not yet...I have some, and my clothes are getting tight, but I'm not wearing it yet.
Stretch marks? Nope...
Sleep: Decent. I'm not getting enough sleep, so I'm exhausted, and I get SO hot during the middle of the night, but otherwise, I'm sleeping pretty well.
Best moment this week: Reaching the 11 Week Mark!
Movement: Nope.
Food cravings: Mexican
Gender: Don't know yet...
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
What I am looking forward to: Finding out if it's a boy or a girl and painting the nursery!
Weekly Wisdom: I don't really have any...
Milestones: Feeling better...still exhausted, but feeling better, so I've been able to get to the gym some last week and both Monday and Tuesday this week. My body isn't used to it, so I'm a little sore, but it's been good, and I feel so much better!

All over the place...

I'm tired all the time, but I think a good portion of my tiredness stems from the fact that Grant doesn't need much sleep. He goes to bed at 11:00 PM or later, and he sets the alarm clock for 5:45 AM. I'm also getting up to go to the bathroom at least one - two times per night. I am the opposite, and I like to get eight hours of sleep. I like to have plenty of sleep and be well-rested, so I like to go to bed between 9:00 and 10:00 PM and sleep until 6:00 AM.

I'm also a very light sleeper, so I wake up very easily. If I go to bed before Grant, I don't sleep well until he gets in bed, then I wake up while he is getting ready for bed. I then sleep until his alarm clock goes off and that's usually it. Needless to say, I'm not getting enough rest, and I can't wait for the weekend to relax and nap! :) As terrible as this sounds, I already laid down this morning. I got to work, and I was so exhausted that I couldn't keep my eyes open in front of the computer screen, so I laid down on my floor in my office and closed my door for ten minutes. When I got back up...I felt SO much better! It's SO terrible though, and I feel bad, but I had to do it!

I'm planning on going to the Athens Farmer's Market this weekend, and I'm SO excited about it. I've never been, but I've heard it's great. My mom is going to go with me...We are also going to go to the local baby store, Rattles & Rhymes just for fun, and I think we are going to go shopping, as well. I don't have to buy any maternity shirts with her around...she has already bought me 10-15 shirts, and I think that's really all I'll need...some are casual and some are for work, so I have a great mixture. So now I just need to find some pants. She's also going to do an ultrasound for me...We are trying to decide if we are going to do the NT scan at my next doctor's appointment. My mom does ultrasounds, so she is going to do the ultrasound portion of the test. If it looks abnormal, we'll go ahead and get the blood work done for it at my next appointment. If it looks normal, then we are going to save our money and not do the scan.

Hope everyone has a fabulous Tuesday!

It can't be Monday?!

The weekend was a long one, and it still passed by way too quickly. I spent most of the weekend just relaxing. I cleaned the house from top to bottom, I washed all of our clothes and sheets on the bed, I ironed all of the clothes, and I just got things done around the house that I had been putting off for quite some time.

I also took a nap almost everyday, so that was great. I took one on Friday and Saturday, but I didn't take one on Sunday. I got a few new essential clothing items. I got some clothes for work, and I got two new bras which I was in desperate need of since I grew from a 34B to a 34C practically overnight.

I got some sun, and I spent some time with the dog and hanging out with friends. All in all, a great weekend, but I just can't believe that it's Monday. I have a severe case of the Monday's, and I can't concentrate at work nor do I want to be at work. I would love to be back home with my dog, napping on the couch. Oh well, I'm counting down the days 'til this week is over and only 23 more days 'til Grant and I are on our way to the beach! I can't wait! I need another vacation!

Today

This is where I'm spending the day...I'm getting ready to head out of the house and over to a friends house to layout by the pool this morning for a little bit and read my book. :) Around lunchtime, I'm going to head home and head to the outlet mall, and I'm going to go shopping for some new clothes! Yay!

Thanks to everyone for the great suggestions yesterday! Being exactly 5 ft. tall prior to getting pregnant and weight about 105 lbs., I definitely show the change in my body quickly. And i do have one of the Bella Bands, but I don't like it. As someone else mentioned on here, they didn't like things tight and touching their stomach...I don't either. I never had a problem with it before I was pregnant, but I don't like it now. I can wear the Bella Band, but it's just not that comfortable, and I'm just not really into it. I'm going to wear it some to save some money, but I've got to do something else too.

Nothing Fits...

I'm SO frustrated this morning, because nothing fits me...I step on the scale, and I've gained about a pound and a half in the last ten weeks and two days, but nothing that should make my clothes not fit. But I'm SO uncomfortable in my clothes! Nothing fits the way that it should, and I'm just aggravated about it. I know that I'll only get bigger, but I'm not gaining any weight yet, so why can't I fit into my clothes?! This shouldn't be happening already...should it?

I'm frustrated, because I didn't anticipate that I would need to go buy new clothes this soon. I'm going to go and try to buy some jeans in a size larger than I currently wear, so that hopefully, I can wear those after the baby, and they'll fit until I lose the weight. So, looks like I'll be enjoying my weekend trying to find a few new items to hold me over until I really need to start wearing maternity clothes. I wish that I could just stay small for longer and then just get big overnight, so I'm not at that funny in-between stage. I'm sure people are starting to think I'm gaining that "newlywed" weight, because I'm definitely looking a little bigger in my stomach, mostly bloat, I would guess, but I don't look the same. People will be shocked when they find out that it's not just weight gain from being happily married but weight gain from a baby! :)

To Tell or Not To Tell...

So, I'm so anxious to start telling the world that I'm pregnant. I hit the 10 week mark yesterday, and I am having a really hard time keeping it to myself now. At first it was fairly easy, because I was afraid that something would happen in the early stages of my pregnancy. But now, I'm not so scared, and I feel like I'm ready to tell everyone.

But how early is too early? What do you think? I have mixed feelings...on one hand, I've waited this long, how hard is it to wait another almost two weeks? But on the other hand, I'm feeling good, and I'm so excited, and I want everyone to know!! And it's hard to wait another two weeks! I can't decide...what do you guys think?
