So much to be thankful for...

I know I'm SO late on posting Thanksgiving photos, but I had lost my camera, and I just now found it, and I got it charged back up, so better late than never!

We spent a great Thanksgiving Holiday with my parents at their house on Thursday followed by a second round with Great-Grammy & Grandfather in Greenville, SC on Friday. It was a great week, and we truly do have so much to be thankful for in the Harvey Household.

We are healthy and enjoying life with an almost 11 month old! He is so joyful, and I need to post a Monthly Update...I'm WAY late!

Here are some things that I'm thankful for this year:
  • A handsome, healthy son
  • A loving, supportive husband and father
  • A husband who gives our son a bath every single night, puts on his pajamas and reads to him, because he enjoys that special time that they share each night.
  • Parents who love us and our son and who would do anything to help us and be there for us when we need them.
  • A dog who lets our son chew on him, pull his ears and tail, step on him and "pat" him constantly.
  • The ability to nurse my son to his 1st Birthday! Yay!
  • Friends with children close in age to Weston that we spend time with regularly
  • My sister who is getting married in the Spring, and I get to help with her wedding! She is a true best friend, and I'm SO glad that I can call her that!
I have SO much more to be thankful for, and I could go on and on and on, but I'll stop with those for now! I have nothing to complain about and am so grateful for all the joy in our lives.

My Heart

I can't believe how crazy in love I am with this little guy...he's my heart and everything that I do is for him!

Today was the craziest day, and he was an angel through it all! My car battery died, and I had to get jumped three times. Once I finally made it home, it wouldn't start at all. We had to buy and install a new battery this evening, so I could get to work tomorrow. Also, Grant is sick, so I'm parenting all alone until he gets back to normal. We don't want him anywhere near us, because he is sick to his stomach, and I don't think I could be a good mom and breastfeed if I was nauseous and throwing up, but I'm not sure that I'd get a break. He is sleeping on the couch tonight, in hopes that we don't get sick! :( I definitely am grateful that I have his help most of the time!

What a Productive Evening?!

So, we had a very productive evening last night, and I felt SO great about it! I came home, and I cooked dinner and played with Banks a little while. Grant had a meeting to go to yesterday, and they had a dinner after the meeting, so I had dinner by myself. But luckily, I made enough, so we can have leftovers and Grant can enjoy chicken pot pie the next day! :)

After Grant got home, I headed up to the baby's room to go through all of the gifts that we received at the shower on Saturday. I also started to clean out the closet! I can't wait until his dresser arrives, so we can put lots of the items in the dresser, such as, burp cloths, bibs, hats, socks, etc. It will hopefully be ready to be picked up next week.

Grant was also productive...he decided that he would grab the boxes for the Pack n Play and Stroller and go ahead and assemble them, so he wouldn't have to assemble everything at once in a few months. So, he went ahead and put together everything. We stuck the stroller in our hall closet, and the Pack n Play is just in the spot in the living room where it will stay while I'm at home with Weston. So, we are getting ready, and we still have time, but I'm excited to have it done and be one less thing to worry about. Tonight, he's going to install the mobile on the crib! :)

By the way, if you haven't noticed...I have a completely Type A personality! I want to get everything done as soon as possible, and I want it to be finished and organized and looking good. I don't know why, but I've always been like this. It has it's pros and cons, but mostly, I just like staying organized and getting things done.

Seriously Crushing on...

Luke Bryan!!

I love a southern, country boy, and Luke Bryan is just that! He has a great voice, and I've been listening to his new CD all day for the past two days! He is just laid back and relaxed about everything, and he puts on a great show! I can't wait until he comes back to Athens, and I hope that I'm not pregnant when he comes, so I can really enjoy it!

Though I have a huge crush on Luke Bryan, I feel so lucky that I have a southern man who loves to hunt, fish and wants to live on 500 acres. As a young girl, I dreamed of marrying a banker...someone who wore a suit to work everyday and made lots of money. Not saying that anything is wrong with that... :) I dated mostly guys like that until Grant came along, and he blew me away. Nothing can replace a southern gentleman and his charm, and I quickly fell head over heels for him. He doesn't need have the finer things in life, and he enjoys living the simple life. He puts his family and home before anything else, and he works hard to support us everyday! We are so blessed!

Busy, Busy, Busy

So, as you can tell, I didn't make it back yesterday to update my blog! It was such a busy day, and I ended up not logging back in and not reading anyone's blogs at all yesterday. Since I went to the doctor, I was out of the office, so it put me a little behind at work. I had to do work when I normally would've been blogging, because I was out for the appointment.

The appointment went well, and if I don't hear anything back with results by the middle of next week, then I passed. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't call next week! :) I ate a Chick-fil-a biscuit after the appointment, and it was SO good. I wasn't even hungry for lunch since it was so late, so I skipped lunch yesterday. I had a Cancer Auxiliary Meeting yesterday after work, so I didn't get home until about 8:45 or so, and I was ready to curl up with Grant and not think about catching up on blogs!

I'm busy today too, but I wanted to stop in and post a quick update...I also got my flu shot yesterday. It wasn't bad, and I didn't have any reactions, so I'm thrilled. I had never gotten a flu shot before, so I was a little concerned. Today, I have errands to run after work before I can go home, then Grant and I are taking Banks to his hunt test tomorrow, so we'll be gone all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Question for all you Mom's out there...What did you bring your newborn home from the hospital in? Did you buy a special outfit or did you have something made? If so, what was it? I'm trying to decide what to bring Weston home from the hospital in, and I really have no idea what to buy or bring for him to wear. Any suggestions from anyone? I'd love to hear them!

Since I said I would post my list of things I was thankful for yesterday and didn't...I'm going to post it today.

Anyways, today and everyday I am thankful for...
  • Baby Weston - A great doctor's appointment...wonderful growth, appropriate weight gain, low blood pressure and a strong heartbeat! All good news! :)
  • Mr. Harvey - I've been really busy lately and gone during the evenings on a regular basis, and he never says anything about my busy schedule or makes me feel like it's a burden. I feel bad, because if I'm not home, he has to come home and take the dog on a walk and cook dinner, etc., and he has no one to share the evening tasks with. So, I appreciate him, and I am thankful that he does those things without complaints.
  • The Weather - As much as I hate the cold weather, I am loving it this year, because the cooler it gets outside, the closer it gets to the birth of Baby Harvey! I'm loving that it's getting cool out and trees are starting to change color. It's awesome!
  • My Friends & Family - I have wonderful friends and family, and within the past week, I've received two baby shower invitations for showers that they are throwing for me. I'm so excited about the showers, and I'm so thankful and appreciative of their hard work and willingness to do something like that for me! I'm looking forward to the first one that's next weekend! Yay!!
Well, I guess that's all for now...Hope everyone has a great weekend, and I'll be back on Monday!

Breakdown

Edit: I'm feeling much better, and I had a Dunkin Donuts Decaf Latte to make me feel better, and it definitely worked! Cheered me right up! I also went to Physical Therapy today, and it was great, so that made my day wonderful. I'll update you all on Physical Therapy tomorrow!

So, I had a minor breakdown in my office a few minutes ago, and I'm not sure why...I'll chalk it up to the hormones.

I've had a fairly rough past few days in regards to indigestion. I'm feeling fine, but I have terrible, awful indigestion with everything that I eat. It feels like a burning sensation in my chest, and it's miserable and so uncomfortable! Also, I woke up this morning, and I was super swollen for the first time during the pregnancy. I've been a little swollen, but it was pretty bad this morning. My fingers were sore to bend and my feet felt huge. I couldn't get my rings on my finger, so it's the first time that I've gone without my two bands and engagement ring since we were married. I've got them in my little jewelry pouch, just in case, the swelling goes down, and I can wear them. I don't know why I'm suddenly retaining so much water. I stopped by and checked my blood pressure this morning, and it was low, so I know that's not it. So, anyways, I've been feeling pretty crappy and been bummed about my rings and the indigestion.

Then to top it off, Grant has been away from the house in the evenings for the past two nights, and he'll be gone tonight and tomorrow night too, so I'm alone in the evenings with the dog. Not that I don't love Banks, but he doesn't talk back to me, and he requires a lot more time and energy than Grant does. :) So, I'm a little frustrated that he has been gone so much lately, and I'm hoping next week is better. But I guess because of all of this, I got emotional, and I just started crying in my office. I don't even know why...it's so stupid, and I have no reason to be upset. I'm fine now, and I got over it within seconds, so hopefully, I don't have another breakdown anytime soon.

On a completely random note, my fingers are freezing. I'm not sure if it's because my office is cold, but my fingers, especially on my right hand just won't get warm. I guess maybe it's poor circulation, but I'm not sure. It's so strange!

UGA vs. USC & A Fiasco

Wow!! What a game on Saturday?! It was definitely a nail biter, but I hated that the game was so late. It made for an extremely long day and a lazy day on Sunday. Grant woke up and went hunting on Saturday morning. I woke up and went on a walk with the dog and some neighbors. I showered and got ready to go tailgate. We went and tailgated from about noon to 6:30 PM or so. We then packed it all up and headed back to the house to watch the game. We ordered pizza and watched the game, but by the end, I was almost passed out, because I was so exhausted. It was hot, and we had taken Banks with us to tailgate. It was a great time though, and I really enjoyed hanging out with our friends.

We went to sleep right after the game, and we woke up the next morning and headed to church. After church, we ate lunch and then Grant went to my dad's house. He was planning on mowing his hunting club with my dad's tractor, but they ran into one problem after another. He got to my parents house and my dad was cutting the grass, so he had to wait about an hour until he was finished. They left and went to get the trailer, but the tire was low, so they filled it with air, then went to get the tractor, they got the tractor on the trailer and the tire was low again, so they took it and got it patched and then were headed down the interstate when the tire blew out. They made it onto the side of the road, then called places looking for a tire. Finally when no one had one, they drove an hour to Lawrenceville to my dad's friends shop to find a tire. They found tires, and they replaced them all but one. During the tire replacement, my dad's finger got smashed and tore the entire fingernail off his finger. By this time, it was after 9:00 PM. They got on the road, and they got to the hunting club and unloaded the tractor. Grant finally got home after Banks and I were already in bed a little after midnight.

It was a rough Sunday for Grant and my dad, but they finally got the tractor where it needed to be. Now, Grant is planning on spending some time mowing the hunting club this week since he was able to get it finished on Sunday. My Sunday was a little more relaxing...I wasn't feeling that great, and I was worn out, so I took a nap with Banks after church, read my book, cleaned up the house a little bit and just relaxed. It was a nice Sunday for me! :)
