Thankful...

I'm not sure if any of you have seen it, but people are posting on Facebook the challenge to post what you are thankful for each day until Thanksgiving. I am thankful for SO many things, and I have so many awesome things happening in my life, but it's often that I take these things for granted, and I don't say thank you or realize how lucky I am. In the Thanksgiving spirit, I decided to take on the challenge. In the past three days since deciding to post the things that I'm thankful for, her are my daily status updates:

Tuesday: Today I am thankful for...my dog, Banks! He makes even rainy days like today where we can't go outside and play seem sunny and bright! :)

Wednesday:
Today I am thankful for...the baby boy moving inside my stomach and waking me up every morning with his kicks and punches! I am so in love with him already! :)

Thursday (Today): Today I am thankful for...a wonderful, patient and understanding husband who gets up and makes me breakfast every single morning and still loves me even when I complain! :)

I'm so grateful for all of these things, and I'm grateful for so many more blessings that I have in my life! It's so important everyday not just around Thanksgiving to show your appreciation and realize how much you have and how much you should be thankful for! To keep up with this and to let everyone know what I'm thankful for...I'm going to use this as "Thankful Thursday" until Thanksgiving, and I'm going to post my status updates from the week! If you haven't already, take some time to think about what you are thankful for today...

Seriously Crushing on...

Luke Bryan!!

I love a southern, country boy, and Luke Bryan is just that! He has a great voice, and I've been listening to his new CD all day for the past two days! He is just laid back and relaxed about everything, and he puts on a great show! I can't wait until he comes back to Athens, and I hope that I'm not pregnant when he comes, so I can really enjoy it!

Though I have a huge crush on Luke Bryan, I feel so lucky that I have a southern man who loves to hunt, fish and wants to live on 500 acres. As a young girl, I dreamed of marrying a banker...someone who wore a suit to work everyday and made lots of money. Not saying that anything is wrong with that... :) I dated mostly guys like that until Grant came along, and he blew me away. Nothing can replace a southern gentleman and his charm, and I quickly fell head over heels for him. He doesn't need have the finer things in life, and he enjoys living the simple life. He puts his family and home before anything else, and he works hard to support us everyday! We are so blessed!

Busy, Busy, Busy

So, as you can tell, I didn't make it back yesterday to update my blog! It was such a busy day, and I ended up not logging back in and not reading anyone's blogs at all yesterday. Since I went to the doctor, I was out of the office, so it put me a little behind at work. I had to do work when I normally would've been blogging, because I was out for the appointment.

The appointment went well, and if I don't hear anything back with results by the middle of next week, then I passed. Keeping my fingers crossed that they don't call next week! :) I ate a Chick-fil-a biscuit after the appointment, and it was SO good. I wasn't even hungry for lunch since it was so late, so I skipped lunch yesterday. I had a Cancer Auxiliary Meeting yesterday after work, so I didn't get home until about 8:45 or so, and I was ready to curl up with Grant and not think about catching up on blogs!

I'm busy today too, but I wanted to stop in and post a quick update...I also got my flu shot yesterday. It wasn't bad, and I didn't have any reactions, so I'm thrilled. I had never gotten a flu shot before, so I was a little concerned. Today, I have errands to run after work before I can go home, then Grant and I are taking Banks to his hunt test tomorrow, so we'll be gone all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Question for all you Mom's out there...What did you bring your newborn home from the hospital in? Did you buy a special outfit or did you have something made? If so, what was it? I'm trying to decide what to bring Weston home from the hospital in, and I really have no idea what to buy or bring for him to wear. Any suggestions from anyone? I'd love to hear them!

Since I said I would post my list of things I was thankful for yesterday and didn't...I'm going to post it today.

Anyways, today and everyday I am thankful for...
  • Baby Weston - A great doctor's appointment...wonderful growth, appropriate weight gain, low blood pressure and a strong heartbeat! All good news! :)
  • Mr. Harvey - I've been really busy lately and gone during the evenings on a regular basis, and he never says anything about my busy schedule or makes me feel like it's a burden. I feel bad, because if I'm not home, he has to come home and take the dog on a walk and cook dinner, etc., and he has no one to share the evening tasks with. So, I appreciate him, and I am thankful that he does those things without complaints.
  • The Weather - As much as I hate the cold weather, I am loving it this year, because the cooler it gets outside, the closer it gets to the birth of Baby Harvey! I'm loving that it's getting cool out and trees are starting to change color. It's awesome!
  • My Friends & Family - I have wonderful friends and family, and within the past week, I've received two baby shower invitations for showers that they are throwing for me. I'm so excited about the showers, and I'm so thankful and appreciative of their hard work and willingness to do something like that for me! I'm looking forward to the first one that's next weekend! Yay!!
Well, I guess that's all for now...Hope everyone has a great weekend, and I'll be back on Monday!

Thankful Thurdsay

Photobucket

So, I have been seeing "Thankful Thursdays" on quite a few blogs in the past few months, and I felt lead to start doing this each Thursday, if I remember. It's so easy to take the things that you have for granted and to not say "Thank You" or be grateful often enough, and I know that I've been reading some blogs of people who are having some tough times right now...people who have lost a child or a loved one, and it breaks my heart. It really makes me realize how lucky I am and how I should take a few moments everyday to be thankful and say a little prayer for all the things that I've been blessed with...I took the button above from Life After I "Dew", so go on over and check out her blog and things that she is thankful for this Thursday!

Anyways, today I am thankful for...
  • Baby Weston - A successful doctor's appointment on Monday and a normal, healthy baby boy growing in my belly!
  • Mr. Harvey - He is so supportive of me and everything that I want to do, i.e. my goals, aspirations, etc. He is so loving right now when I'm feeling like I'm gaining weight and not feeling that attractive. And he wakes up with me in the night when I'm not feeling good, can't get comfortable or just can't sleep, because he doesn't want me to feel bad alone. He's the most amazing husband that I could ever ask for!
  • The Beach - I'm feeling so grateful that we get to take tomorrow off work and head down to the beach for Labor Day weekend. And we get to spend the weekend "dog-free", so we'll have a nice weekend of sleeping in a little bit late and enjoying one another.
  • The Weather - It's gorgeous outside, and it's been so nice to be able to take the dog on a comfortable 2-mile walk around the neighborhood.
  • My Parents, especially my Mom - They are awesome, and they are going to love their grandson so much! My mom has already been to two consignment sales and bought bags and bags of clothes. And she is making cookies to bring to the beach this weekend, and I'm so excited about them! :)
I could go on and on with various things that I'm thankful for...my job, our house, etc., but I'll stop for now, and I'll post more things that I'm thankful for next Thursday. I may not be posting tomorrow, because I'll be out of the office and traveling to Jekyll. If not, I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Holiday Weekend.
