Good Weekend and an Engagement

This weekend was really fun, and as a result, I'm exhausted this morning. I've got to go home this afternoon and go to bed EARLY! On Friday, Grant and I had a date night and then just relaxed at home and played with Banks. But on Saturday, two of our friends, Max and Amanda came into town, and we went to lunch with them. Then I ran some errands while Grant worked around the house. Later, we all met back up at our house, and we went over to a friends house where a big "surprise" engagement was to take place.

One of Grant's friends decided a few weeks ago to propose to his girlfriend, so he called everyone and told them what was going on and asked them to come over on Saturday night. The girlfriend was planning a surprise birthday party for him, because his birthday was on Friday, so she thought it was a big surprise party for him. They walked in the door, and everyone yelled "Surprise"! Then he started talking and telling her how much he loved her (this is where I started crying), then he got down on one knee and asked her to marry him. It was TOO sweet. She was crying, and it was a very emotional moment. She said "Yes!", and we had a great night hanging out with friends. We stayed out way too late though, so it was midnight before we got back home. And we had two other couples, one with a baby, staying at our house, so we had to get everything ready for them.

We finally made it to bed, and we woke up the next morning and headed to Waffle House for breakfast. After breakfast, we ran around town with our friends, Amanda and Max. Then Max headed back home, and Amanda stayed. She works from home, but the company she works with is here, so she was staying to teach some classes this week. We hung out all afternoon, then we went to eat with some girlfriends of ours. We had a great time, but I wasn't able to get in any of my regular naps, so it was a long weekend. We went to bed at ten last night, but when you wake up at 5:45 AM, it just wasn't early enough. I might just crawl up under my desk and take a quick nap! :)

Hope everyone else had a great weekend!

I've got nothing...

...to post about today! I've been really busy with work and planning a big event for an organization that I'm a part of here in Athens that was last night, so I've been a little stressed and a bit MIA this week. I'm also extremely tired, and I've had a headache all morning.

So, on that note...I'm not going to post and complain, I'll just say "Have a Great Weekend" everyone, and I'll be back on Monday in a better mood with hopefully, NO headache and well-rested from a great relaxing weekend.

Bathroom Decorations

So, I decided when we found out that we were having a baby that I wanted to decorate the bathroom also, so it would be more kid-friendly. Currently, it's very simple and plain, but I like it. It also has things in it like candles and a toilet bowl cleaner, etc. Things that I wouldn't want a young child to get into to, so I've decided to redecorate.

The theme is Rubber Ducks, so blue, yellow and white. We are using a solid white waffle weave shower curtain with a blue "H" monogrammed on it. We've got two white towels on the towel holder with a hand towel that is monogrammed in Blue that says "Weston". We have a hand towel next to the sink that says "WHJ".

We are using these two canvases as decor on the wall:

We are using these blue floor mats from Pottery Barn Kids:I have this photo frame sitting on the counter, and we are going to put a photo of Weston and Banks in it once he is born...

I'm currently planning on putting a white basket with a blue liner on the back of the toilet, but I'm not sure what I'll put in it yet...I'm having a hard time with additional decorations.

We are having another 5x5 Canvas designed that is just a Duck to go on the wall above the hand towel. I was thinking about possibly adding a small lamp to the sink and possibly putting some Rubber Ducks of different sizes and shapes in the basket on the back of the toilet, but I'm pretty much at a stand still, and I need ideas. Any suggestions? Please help! I'll post photos of the bathroom once it's complete too, as well as, photos of the nursery.

17 Week Appointment & Nice Comment

I had my 17 Week Appointment with my doctor today, and it went really well. I really enjoy the doctor's appointments, because I get verification that I'm doing well. My blood pressure was 109/63, so that was great. I've gained 6 lbs., and he said that was perfect. He said that I was right on track and doing great!

The nurse checked for Weston's heartbeat, and she found it right away. His heartbeat was 150 bpm. It was SO sweet! I love hearing his heart beating and knowing that he is okay. I'm SO excited about him being here, and I get more excited daily.

I have an ultrasound only appointment on Monday, August 31st, and I have the next appointment with the doctor on Tuesday, September 15th. I'm having my first shower on Sunday, November 8th. I can't wait! I'll be almost 28 weeks at that time! I'm excited about the shower.

Also, I went to the gym yesterday, and a friend of mine was asking how I was feeling and how the baby was and a random girl next to me turned towards me, looked at me and her mouth dropped open. She said, "What? You are pregnant!" And I said, "Yes", I am. She said, "WOW! You are so tiny! You don't look 17 weeks pregnant." It was so nice, and it was great to hear someone say that, because I'm feeling huge though I know that I'm not. :)

I'm enjoying going to the gym, and I'm making it pretty much every other day. I'm enjoying it! I hate to not be at the gym! Anyways, work has been really busy and life has been busy, so my posting has been pretty intermittent. I'll work on that and be back more often. :)

16 Weeks & 2 Days Update

So, I haven't done an update on me in awhile, so I figured I would go ahead and do one today, because I can't really think of anything else to write about at this time, but I'll come up with something else for tomorrow.

How far along? 16 Weeks, 2 Day
Total weight gain/loss: +7 lbs. - I don't know where all the weight is coming from...in the past two weeks, I've started gaining weight more quickly! Yikes! I hope it slows down at some point, but according to the Weight Gain calculator, I haven't gained too much weight.
Maternity clothes? Maternity pants only...I'm not wearing Maternity shirts yet, and I'm also wearing just regular stretchy dresses too.
Stretch marks? Nope...Keeping my fingers crossed that I don't get any! :)
Sleep: Decent. I'm still waking up a few times a night, so not sleeping through the night sucks!
Best moment this week: Finding out last Wednesday that it was a BOY!
Movement: Nope.
Food cravings: None
Gender: Boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out? In
What I am looking forward to: Decorating the Nursery!
Weekly Wisdom: I don't really have any...
Milestones: Finding out the Baby's Gender

Decorations for the Nursery

So, I ordered some wall canvases for the nursery a few weeks ago, and they came in the mail on Monday. I love them! I'm so excited about painting the room this weekend and putting the crib in the room and hanging up my decorations. They turned out so great, and I am so grateful that I found Brandie at Dream Custom Artwork. If you need any artwork for all holidays or for your own home, check her out. She does a great job! She is really quick and easy to work with, and I'm so pleased with the final results!

Check them out...What do you guys think?

1st Stranger Comment!! and a Good Book

So, I went out to get my eyebrows waxed on Sunday at the place that I always go, so they have come to know me pretty well by now. Anyways, I walk in, and I started walking towards the back of the building where you go for eyebrow waxing. The girl who usually waxes my eyebrows was folding some towels, and she pointed to her stomach, and she said, "Are you expecting?" I was shocked that she could tell, as I was wearing gym shorts and a t-shirt, and I didn't think anyone could tell. I figured if anything people just think I look fat, because that's how I'm feeling. Anyways, I was so glad that she actually thought that I was having a baby rather than just fat! :)

I couldn't believe it, because I still feel like it's pretty early, and I'm not very big yet, so I didn't think I would get any comments just yet! By the way, I've been taking belly pics along the way, but I'm just feeling so fat and bloated that I haven't wanted to post. I'm beginning to actually look pregnant, so I'll start posting them weekly in the next week or two.

On another note, a friend of mine from the gym just had a baby in April, and she brought me a book to read yesterday, and I couldn't put it down. I started the book after walking the dog last night around nine, and I finished it around 11:00 PM. It's a short, easy read. It's called "Belly Laughs" by Jenny McCarthy. If any of you or pregnant or know someone who is pregnant or when you are pregnant one day...you've got to read this book. It is hilarious, and it tells you the truth about pregnancy...the good, the bad and the ugly without hiding anything that many books don't tell you.

It's a...

BOY!!

We had an ultrasound last Wednesday, and we were so excited to find out that we are having a boy! We were pretty sure based on the last ultrasound that we had, but we didn't want to be too confident, just in case. Anyways, I was so anxious about the ultrasound, and we saw it right away, so there is no doubt. I'll close with some photos of Weston James, aka, 'Wes'. We think he is pretty cute! :)

I've finally made a decision...

So, it's been awhile, but I've decided to make my way back and make a decision. I've been going back and forth for weeks about whether or not I should go private after I found out that someone that I'm not close with told some of my close friends that I was pregnant before I could, because she read my blog and thought it was her "place" to tell people. After discussion with many different bloggers and non-bloggers, I made a decision...I'm not going private!

I finally decided that I want people to find me...I want people that I don't know to start reading my blog, because they found me through someone's blog and not be turned away, because when they click on the link, it's private. So, that being said, I'm going to continue posting as normal, but I'm not going to post about anything that's a "secret" unless I've already told everyone that I want to that doesn't read my blog.

I don't think I have any major secrets like that and likely won't for awhile, so I think that I'm safe from wanting to tell everyone something, but not wanting the secret to be spoiled! :)

I was amazed at the outpouring of people who wanted to be added as readers of my blog if I decided to go private. I appreciate all of you support, and I'm so glad that I have so many people who read my blog! Now, you guys just have to comment more often! :)

Thanks everyone, and I'll be posting again more often!
